All-Ireland Student Activist Network Weekend

The All-Ireland Student Activist Network is planning an incredible Halloween weekend of training, connecting, empowerment and fun, in Belfast on 28-30th Oct 2017.

We will be gathering in Queen's University Belfast to:

  • Share and join campaigns and actions across Ireland.
  • See how our movements are interlinked.
  • Learn from young people and seasoned environmental and social justice campaigners from all over Ireland.
  • Learn skills and tools to make your campaigns as effective and impactful as possible.
  • Put personal and group sustainability at the core of our work.
  • Eat great food, meet great people and have a healthy dose of fun ;)

South West and Wales Sustainable Students / Myfyrwyr Cynaliadwy Cymru a De Orllewin Lloegr

Take part in People's and Planet's South West and Wales Regional Gathering in Cardiff this November! The weekend promises to be a unique experience with exciting workshops, talks seminars, networking, and - not to mention - fun activities, all taking place at Cathays Community Centre in Cardiff.

With particular focus on our three main campaigns: Fossil Free (getting universities to move their money out of unsustainable fossil fuels), Sweatshop Free (ensuring fair treatment and decent workers' rights for those who produce electronics that Universities buy) and Undoing Borders (migrant solidarity work and keeping the border industry OFF our campuses), you will learn invaluable skills for influencing students and staff alike.

With the full programme to be announced soon, you definitely won't want to miss this inspiring opportunity to meet like minded people and work with us to create positive change within out Universities...watch this space!

North England Fossil Free Futures

Fossil Free Futures 2017 is a training weekend open to all students in the North who want universities, public institutions and fracking companies to stop funding and supporting devastating climate change. Held in Leeds, on Saturday you will share and improve on your knowledge of campaign tactics and the Fossil Free campaign; and receive training on organising and participating in Non-Violent Direct Actions (NVDA). On Sunday, you will participate in a NVDA against Barclays; and receive training on self-care and future planning.

Oh, and there’ll be a bunch of passionate like-minded students and a great social!

11th and 12th November 2017

People & Planet Scotland Regional Gathering

This November, come along to the People & Planet Scotland Regional Gathering in the beautiful city of Edinburgh. This weekend of training and networking will take place on the 11th and 12th November at the Autonomous Centre of Edinburgh. We’re going to be looking at campaign strategy, media skills, migrant solidarity and knowing your legal rights, as well as coming together to plan an action about climate refugees on the Sunday afternoon. We’ll also be strengthening our Scottish network and working out how we can best support each other’s campaigns.

Food and accommodation, as well as potential help with travel costs, are provided for free, and there will be a social on Saturday night and post-action entertainment for those who can stick around on Sunday evening.

Everyone who is a student at university or college in Scotland is welcome, even if you’re not part of a People & Planet group. So, if you want to learn some new campaigning skills and meet fantastic student activists from all over Scotland, keep an eye out for more information and booking.
