We are excited to introduce the winners of our 2024 People & Planet student trustee elections!
My name is Floyd, and I'm a POC, mature student, at Birkbeck university and currently doing an MA in Art history. I'm a member of Birkbeck's Climate Action Network, and I am also the student unions Environmental and Ethics Officer. I've been a trade union activist for over 30 years, and a member of the PCS Culture Sector. I love using my e-bike, swimming, a wide variety of music, especially classical and opera, reading, and shouting at the telly when watching Question Time.
Greetings! I’m Audrey, studying Energy Transitions and Sustainability at Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen. I am also an Environment and Sustainability Consultant. My journey in environmental protection and sustainability has been one of both passion and purpose, marked by a steadfast dedication to making a meaningful difference. I am involved in various community and extracurricular activities, including serving as the Head of the Climate Action Network for Robert Gordon University - Go Green, a member of the Robert Gordon University Sustainability committee, and volunteering with Aberdeen Climate Action, where I contribute to initiatives aimed at promoting sustainability and environmental protection.
I have had the privilege of contributing to various organisations and projects, each experience shaping my expertise and perspective. I have been a key part of initiatives aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and environmental protection, and every step has been guided by a shared vision of a more environmentally sustainable future.
I am grateful to be part of the Board of Trustees at People and Planet – an organisation whose work I admire. I look forward to working alongside every one of you as we strive toward our shared goals.
Hi! I'm Sam (he/him) and I'm a science student and campaigner. Having campaigned through my teens with Friends of the Earth and the school strike movement, I now organise with Cambridge Climate Justice, and I sit on the Finance and Operations Committee of the Campus Climate Network. With the Fossil Free Careers and Fossil Free Research campaigns, Cambridge Climate Justice is working towards an end to the University of Cambridge's relationship with the science-ignoring fossil fuel industry, which is harming people around the world. I really believe in the power of student and community organising to help build a world where everyone can live a happy, fulfilling life.
