  • Implements an ethical careers policy banning relationships with or promotion of these companies.
  • Commits to ending research relationships that benefit these companies.
  • Focuses instead on socially valuable sectors such as healthcare, education and green energy.

Surrey Uni is in bed with the planet-destroying oil, gas and mining industry. An industry that profits from the exploitation and destruction of the environment. This is an indefensible relationship.

Surrey Uni accepts enormous donations from ExxonMobil executives, partners with oil and gas giants Fluor on developing course facilities, and even took $7million from BP to develop crude-oil and tar-sand extraction.

These embarrassing relationships and commitments means that Surrey Uni is not acting in the interest of its students or the planet. There is no future for jobs in the fossil industry - they are dead end jobs for students and graduates. Surrey Uni is failing its students.

They must be held to account.
